Donations for social projects in South Africa
Steinthal Children's Home: Oasis of love and hope
Donations for social projects
Welcome to valleygrapes, your gateway to exquisite wines from the stunning Tulbagh Valley! As a wine lover and owner of valleygrapes, I am pleased to present you a fine selection of wines that embody the unique terroir of the Tulbagh Valley. Every bottle tells the story of this picturesque region and we believe in enjoyment with a purpose. That's why I'm pleased to announce that we donate 0.50 euros from every bottle of wine sold to social projects. Since this region is not only known for its wines, but also for the Steinthal Children's House, we have decided that the first donations will go to this institution. The Steinthal Children's Home in Tulbagh enables orphans and street children from South Africa to have a better future.
The Steinthal Mission
The Steinthal Children's Home in the picturesque Tulbagh Valley has dedicated its heart and soul to a Christian mission. The mission is to provide therapeutic support to children and their families in difficult life circumstances, to promote their development and to successfully reintegrate them into the community. Together with committed employees, volunteers and a strong network, they are passionately committed to these goals.
About the Steinthal Children's House
As a registered NPO program of Badisa Western Cape, the Steinthal Children's Home provides residential care for 150 children (2-18 years) in accordance with the Children's Act, Law 38 of 2005. Here, in the heart of the Tulbagh Valley, the Steinthal team cares for children who have experienced difficult situations. The team's responsibilities extend to the mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being as well as the education of the
Children and young people. The Steinthal Children's Home is supported by the state of South Africa, but has a permanent underfunding and is therefore dependent on additional donations.
A short story
Steinthal's roots go back to the 1830s, when Rhenish missionary Gustav Adolf Zahn had the dream of founding a rescue and development institute for slaves and their families. The farm, originally called Klipfontein, was renamed STEINTHAL after a village in East Germany. Although only registered in 1961, Steinthal has always been a place of care and development for children and adults. After temporary closure due to the 1969 earthquake, the center was expanded to accommodate up to 600 children, but was later reduced to 150 to meet government standards.
Our mission at valleygrapes: wine with heart and responsibility
valleygrapes is not just an online shop for wines from South Africa, but a platform that combines enjoyment and social responsibility. With every order of valleygrapes wines, our donation helps to support the Steinthal Children's House and to offer the children there a better perspective. Thank you for being part of this journey. With every sip of valleygrapes wine you not only raise your glass, but also the life prospects of the children in the Steinthal Children's House.
